It would appear that when I reboot or shutdown, that the services in the ADMIN Tools do not stay as selected. Is there a setting that could have been change that saves this index?

hmmm

I never heard this...are you doing these changes as ann administrtator?

do you hit apply when you make the changes?

is there a sandbox that prevents these changes from occuring?

*/waits for enyo to laugh at my bringing up sandbox once more*

I have made changes as administrator and have been using the information at blackviper.com as a guide. I have been indulging in this service area for a couple of years, and have yet to have any problems, until recently. It is almost like it is "Plug and Play" that does not stay. Then the other services fail. It could be the ones that are failing are directly dependent on PnP? Selecting APPLY? It is possible I failed to do this....

This one was disabled.

Windows Management Instrumentation

Provides a common interface and object model to access management information about operating system, devices, applications and services. If this service is stopped, most Windows-based software will not function properly. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

But I just checked it and it is on Automatic, but is off?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
