WinXP Add/Remove Components problem

I wanted to remove an app from my computer and went to the Add/Remove Component section through Control Panel. When I attempted to bring up the Wizard, I got this message:

Setup library msdtcstp.dll could not be loaded, or function OcEntry could not be found. The specific error code is Ox7e.

I am not able to get into the Windows Component Wizard to Add or Remove components. I also have SP1 installed.

are you using a visual style? if so then rename the folder where the shellstyle.dll is in to the name of the visual style. Maybe it will work for this error 2. Also have a look at www.aurelitec.com

Thanks for replying. Octopus, this problem has to do with Add/Remove Components, not Programs. For instance, if I want to get rid of Internet Explorer, or trim down parts of Internet Information Services, then I would do that in Add/Remove Components.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
