WinMX LockUps!

I just started using WinMX and I notice after opening a chat channel or something like that it starts to lock up my computer and it stays locked up for about 10 seconds and then I have like 5 seconds to move my mouse and then the 10 second lockup starts up again.

I've noticed the same problem with the Remote Desktop application called VPN. I stopped using it for that reason, and switched to PcAnywhere which works fine.

During setting up WinMX I opened ports that WinMX needed for TCP and UDP, then forwarded them to my lan ip. I noticed that you can choose whatever port you wish.

Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

How new is your current version that is installed? Version 3.31 is available now. If you haven't already tried it, maybe you could and see if it fixes your PC lag problem. If your problem persists then maybe you could check out the alt.music.mp3.winmx newsgroup. Let us know how it works out..
