WindowsUpdates Install Error - Sp1/Sp2?

in add/remove i went to uninstall a program, and noticed that some of my Windows Hotfixes had "(SP2)" in them. I checked my 'System' file in Control Panel and it said im using WinXP Home SP1, so i am a little confused.

I looked at WindowsUpdate.com and noticed that some of my SP1 hotfixes failed to install. Now im wondering if i really need those 'failed' hotfixes to be safe on the net.

If i do need them, how would i go about trying to re-install them?

The updates post SP1 are refered to as SP2 updates because they will be included in SP2.

To verify patchs as installed use MBSA:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/tools/Tools/MBSAhome.asp

If they appear as not present just download the patch and install it.
