Windows XP ShutDown problems

I usually set my downloads up before going to bed and use Chrono ShutDown to shut down my PC without my presense but sometimes the PC hangs and the 'saving settings' screen and when I wake up i find my PC was on for no reason for like 5 hours.

Why does it hang at that screen? It does that sometimes normally and this is the 4th time I have installed WinXP:mad:

Hi, I believe this is dealt with in the M/S Knowledge base. To the effect that the shutdown timer is too short and there is not enough time to "save settings", something like that . Check it out.
A registry change I believe.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
