Windows XP Intall fu***d?

I go through the first dos install part fine, but it get's stuck before it goes through to the second dos part (where it asks you where you want to install it and that lot!). It gets stuck when it says :

Verifying DMI Pool Data..... (after the screen where it shows CPU speed, RAM etc.)

sometimes it goes to : Verifying DMI Pool Data..... Update Success but still it gets stuck there!

WHY ?

You might want to run the compatability check to make sure your system specs meet with XP's minimum requirements. If you're sure they do, perhaps your bios needs a flash. Also, check the wires for your HD. It can also be caused by a bad HD.

Ok, I will check my hardrive wires!
My PC is well over the specs required. (1.4 Athlon, 768MB ram)

and any other suggestions welcome!

Thanks allan, I opened my PC up, checked every single wire there, and still the problem remains!

Are you doing an upgrade or full installation?
Also did you try allan's suggestion of flashing the bios?

full install, I fixed it anyway

i flashed it to latest and deleted and created a new partition!
