i am using windows xp pro, few months it can auto turn off the comp when i click shut down. now it can only shut down!

I know that there is a key in registry can do it. ( I forgot where already).

i dont get your question? but a registry way of shuting down would be

in run "shutdown -s -t "number of seconds"

hope it helps

I means is when i click on shut down in windows xp . it say something like windows is shutting down. then it turn off the computer.( dont need to press the button).

now my problem is I need to press the button, it directly turn off the computer

FrenzyD - Open up 'regedit' and navigate to the following key
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
then edit the Key "PowerdownAfterShutdown" from 0 to 1

:)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
