Windows Update problem

Hey everyone

I have used it countless times but today I went on to Windows Update and instead of taking me to the screen where I can scan for updates it went here:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/thanks.asp

So I tried again and again and it wouldn't go to any other link, even if I typed the following URL:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

So I restarted my PC and then Windows Update worked again but when I try to update a component I get this error which I have never had before:

No Updates Were Installed

The following items failed to install. To try installing them again, click Review and install updates, and then click Install Now again.

August 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (822925)
Security Update for Microsoft Data Access Components (823718)


Anyone know how to resolve this problem?

It may be that it can not detect your OS so is kicking you off to that site. Make sure you have scripting enabled.

To Patch up now use the links in:

To download the patches and install them that way.
