Here's a head scratcher:
I had a non-destructive system restore about 2 weeks ago, I now found out that Windows Automatic Update no longer works. It says "The Windows Update Service Is Unavailable". I have to now go to the Windows Update Homepage to check for updates, is there a way to turn this back on? I know what to look for & how, but it says it's not there.

check the services in administrative tools via control panel, see it WU is disabled from there.

Thanks, that was it. I didn't even look in there. It was Disabled, after changing it to Automatic, it still didn't change, then I click on Restart Service, that worked.
Thanks again,
Lion

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(
