windows update fails

i've been attempting to get to the update site but i get this error message:

Thank you for your interest in Windows Update

Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the most out of your computer.

You must be running a Microsoft Windows operating system in order to use Windows Update.

I AM USING A WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM ..grr..heh..also my shutdown is hanging, i tried a lot..i think i disabled some service, and thats why it wont work.

Not having a good day I see. I'm going to guess that both problems may be related... fix the shutdown issue and it may fix the update issue... I don't have a clue what services you've disabled that may be responsible.
