Hey !

I seem to have a problem on my pc..
I got nothing problematic or special installed but when I startup windows after it loads and i try to connect to the internet in hangs up... the desktop works fine, but the start menu and all the bar are kind of disabled and stuck..

on my startup i have :
nod32
a modem program
daemon tools
ctfmon
coolswitch
aticc

is one of those problematic ? how can i check ?

sometimes when i want just to shut down windows.. it says that something .net is stuck... but i cant see what opens it..

can someone help me ?

Can you view the task manager to see if something is eating up your processor or memory?

Have you run any of the standard programs: ad-aware, spybot, hijack-this?

Have you tried booting into safemode to see if the symptoms exist there?

this is a pic of the taskmanager... nothing special there..
15zg.jpg

all the adaware programs are installed and found nothin..
in safe mode ... nothing happens....

When you say nothing happens in safe mode, are you saying that the problem doesn't exist there? If that's the case then I'd look at what safe mode is disabling and then look at disabling that in the regular logon... at least temporarily to see if the problem can be isolated.

check you start up process. If there is anything in there out of the ordannary disable it . Sounds like you have a spyware, or virus somewhere. I would run a spyscan and adware scan ..

Just a quick update... sometimes i see a process stuckd.. and it is something .net ... i don't know what to do . . . i am considering to format... can anyone help me before i have to waste lotta hours of work ?

Is it always the same process? It would definitely help to know exactly what the process name is.

Run and post a Hijackthis log, that is a good place to start. Formatting is ALWAYS a last resort, and I'm sure we can at least try to help before getting to the Formatting stage.

ok, i hope you can help me..
this is the log..

reformat .. Did you completely take symantec out ?? or is it still installed. I knoticed that you have nod32 installed also. If you have both installed at the same time it will cause problems .. Frankly, symantec in general, will cause nothing but problems ..

I am a beta of Symantec and i tryed to uninstall but i didn't completely did it... so tomorrow i will format.. that is the only solution... and i last did it 2 months ago.. so it is a good time now . . .

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
