Windows single-click icons clicking (web-like) question.

Because I have a webpage as an Active Desktop (I use a modified version of the ntfs.desktop from madmatt), it looked cool to me to enable the single-click icons feature (web-style) in Windows XP. But it irritates me that when you click, it takes about a second before the app/file is actually launched. Can someone tell me how to shorten this time?
