Windows saving password

Is there a way to force save a password ? I have a few forums I go to that I use an off the wall password but I have to re sign in ever since sp2 install.

Does your PC acccept cookies?
Also, in internet explorer goto Tools>Internet Options>Content>Auto Complete
Make sure User names and pw's on forms is checked.
