Windows .NET or Server

What are the advantages of running Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server or Windows XP .NET i comparison to the standard Pro versions of Win 2000 and Win XP for the average home user?

I've been know to use Win2kADS on a few Workstations at home.
When installing I make sure it's not intalling any unnecessary accessories. Win2KADS is a lot more stable than Win2kPRO.

I found that the WinXp Servers aren't as stable yet as even the Pro versions, but they are'nt made for workstation use. WinXp servers aren't user friendly at all.

Plus you also forgot to say that the Windows .NET servers are still BETA.

Did you say that Windows 2000 Advanced Server is more stable than Windows 2000 Pro?

Also I would like to know some other advantages other than increased reliability.

Windows advanced server and .net and the like are for real server use, load balancing, active directory services, dns servers, the type of stuff that you set up and leave running not set up then go play some quake hehe. unless your running a pretty advanced home network you will never use any of the features in it

Yeah, running the server version of an OS for use as a workstation sounds a little excesive, and if the services are needed that are utilized on the server, you can't turn it of or... no services. Seems a little odd. And yes Windows .NET is still in beta stages. And it seems like the Windows 2000 Server version should have the same stability as 2000 Proffesional, or even a little less due to the fact that it unaviodably will have more services than just a workstation OS.
