Yeah, running the server version of an OS for use as a workstation sounds a little excesive, and if the services are needed that are utilized on the server, you can't turn it of or... no services. Seems a little odd. And yes Windows .NET is still in beta stages. And it seems like the Windows 2000 Server version should have the same stability as 2000 Proffesional, or even a little less due to the fact that it unaviodably will have more services than just a workstation OS.
