windows MSI installer? Need Help

Whilst trying to reinstall a game (Silent Hunter 3) I got various error msgs from the Installer package. This has now settled down to installing on drive H: by default without offering a choice. I normally install on G:

Can I reinstall MSI somehow? My machine runs Windows XO Pro SP2

It could be that you need to update your win installer.

As Johnny said, make sure you are running Windows Installer 3.1 (v2).

Also, after making sure you are up-to-date you may want to run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.

And lastly, if all else fails, create a log while installing the package.

msiexec /i <PACKAGENAME.MSI> /L*v <LOGFILE.LOG>

or (for errors only)

msiexec /i <PACKAGENAME.MSI> /Le <LOGFILE.LOG>

NOTE: do NOT include the <...> (brackets), just use the filename.
