Just recently when playing music tracks through Windows Media Player, there is a slight distortion of the sound. But when I run the same album or track through Winamp, the sound is normal. Is anybody else getting this problem or is my sound problem unique?

My drivers are the latest from Creative.

Asus P4B Motherboard
P4 2GIG
IGIG RAM
SB Audigy Player
Panasonic DVD/CDROM
TEAC CDRW
Cambridge Soundworks 3500 Speakers
Windows XP Home

Any advice or tips will be most welcome. I am not a computer wizz as you probably gather.:(

have you tried turning off the visualizations when playing the mp3s through media player?

Thanks Qumahlin

Seems to have done the trick. Thanks again for your prompt reply.

no problemo :)

I swear MS has the most hideous optimizations when it comes to visual effects for music and such...you can run winamp AVS or Geiss fullscreen at like 30fps in 1280 by 1024 with a regular geforce 2...on a p3 500...yet if I open up media player,, and enlarge the visualization on my athlon xp 1900, with a geforce 3...it looks like it is going 10 fps at 1280 by 1024 and thats a shame

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
