I have a problem with my desktop and I'm hoping someone can give me a bit of advice. Windows keeps shutting down. The machine can run for an hour or a day or two. It shuts down at different times never the same. A while back I had to change out the psu coz it died out on me (it was just before this it started). When I changed the psu it kept on doing it (which makes me think the mobo might be drawing to much power) I have also formated and changed out the hard drives. I'd much appreciate any advice you could give me.

Is it shutting down or just switching off or cutting out?
Does your main bios show temperatures?

Sorry it's cutting out. Temp readings are fine. 50 degc on an athlon 2800 barton.

What's the make/model of your motherboard and PSU?..there are a few combinations with issues out there, Asus (A8N series) and Antec HE series for one.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
