Windows file protection - permanent disable

Due to changing some system icons with Iconphile I seem to be in need of disabling the Windows file Protection permanently. Also found the appropriate program here http://www.xp-erience.org/download.php?op=getit&lid=203

But is it safe to do this or will it indeed affect the stability of my system? Don't wanna risk anything e.g. trojans or viruses being able to change system files when wfp is turned off.

Thx for any advice

C'mon, could somebody give me a hint concerning my question?

Somebody has to know something ;)

I did it and I've experienced no problems. The way I did it was by editing the sfc_os.dll file.

Attachment includes all the needed files and a readme.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
