Windows 2000 and Windows XP

I just recently updated my windows 2000 to xp. When I did this I tried to format my computer but it didn't work. I didn't really care that much so I installed xp. Now when I start the computer it gives me a choice of loading xp, 2000, or windows. How can I get rid of this? I don't want 2000 on my computer anymore. When I turn on my computer I want my log-in screen to come on.

If you're using ntfs, you'll need to use fdisk to delete the 'non-dos' partitions and recreate them. Beings you tried to format I'm guessing backing up isn't a problem. Does it boot into 2k, or is it just a messed up bootloader? If you want an absolutely clean installation then I'd suggest the fdisk route.

Well the thing is that I like the way xp is running and everything is fine. It just boots to a choice at the beginning of one of the 3. I was just wondering if I could get rid of that without re-installing xp and everything else which would be really annoying.

Yeah you can. Go to control panel> system> 'advanced' tab> startup and recovery 'settings' button. At the top of the that page is your bootloader options. You can edit your bootloader file (boot.ini) and delete the references in there. If you're not comforatable with that, just highlight the XP installation so it's selected as the default os and set the 'time to display list of operating systems' to zero.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
