want to clear out entire contents of Winamp media library, and start fresh and new... if i clear all files from window, it still leaves the albums and artists

i cleared all of the files from /db, which partially worked, but still left some information - so my question is: which folders do I have to empty to clear the db (or is there a menu option somewhere...) or should I start fresh and new and try out the winamp 5 beta?

Just uninstall and reinstall. That'll empty everything out.

if i do that, should i stick with 2/3, or just get a 5 beta instead?

Well, Winamp 5 is basically the same as 2. The idea is to overhaul v2 again, but not end up with v3 in the process. Version 2 has most of the features of 5, but is a lot more stable, and of course, supported and legal.
