Win XP >> WIN 2k = Network + DSL (Sympatico[PPP])

Well i've got XP as the main machine, than i have a network with 2K, and an internet connection on the XP machine. So the 2k uses the connection from my pc, by me sharing the connection.

All this used to work smoothly, than a day ago i noticed a huge slowdown, only some pages load on the 2K machine, like

• http://www.hotmail.com
• http://www.msn.ca
• http://www.whatismyip.com
• http://www.drlarry.com

but sites like:

• Google
• Neopets
• This site
• etc

dont load at all!!!!

Any ideas?

P.S when i ping all those sites the pings return fine, nothing is lost. MSN messenger works, so does ICQ, PC Anywhere also works! Though i wrote a simple VB prog to get the contents of a webpage, not using the WEBBRowser control, but an Internet Transfer control, and it returns nothing!

Maybe the MTU value needs to be lowered.
Maybe the DNS settings are wrong.

what is MTU?

Maximum Transmission Unit. Some DSL users with NAT sharing may have to lower it. I don't remeber how, but there should be instructions in some threads if you search.
