Win Xp Task Bar Not Working !!!

hello. i need help.... my task bar is not working! the when i minimized any window, it does not show on the task bar but when i click 'alt-tab' it will show it. i had already rechecked the task bar at the control panel and it's set to 1-lock, 2-always on top, 3- and show quick launch.. when i un-click 'quick launch' the task bar is totally gone....
pls help... thanks...

When the taskbar is there, does it show start button, clock, systray?

the taskbar can show the start buttons + clock but when u minimize windows it does not show on the taskbar but u coulc show it back by using'alt-tab' button. i didnt find any malware too , i did not find the 'winsrvreg nor the friend greeting' in the control panel...
