Hey,

For some reason after loading into the desktop (note the startup is very fast), some features are unresponsive, such as internet, Windows Messenger (I can't close it right of the bat), as well as some other functions in the control panel. However, I can immediatley get into my c drive and open folders. After about 1 to 2 minutes I am then able to connect to the internet and do other functions.

An example of this would be once I get into the desktop I right click on the Windows Messenger icon in order to close it, after about a min the right click menu appears, so there is some sort of delayed reaction going on.

Any ideas what the problem is??

If you are not part of a network disable the Workstation service.

Bring up the run command, then type "services.msc" .This will bring up a list of different services that can be set to automatic, manual or disable. Just find the one you want and disable it, or set it to manual.
