Win 2000 Pro help please!

Just a quicky..i have confidence in you guys/gals that you can answer this one pretty quick...


A friend of mine has Windows 2000 Pro and is getting annoyed at the fact the mIRC (is that a chat program?) keeps loading up with Windows.

How does he stop this happening as it is starting to grate on him now!!?

Im not familiar with Win2000 Pro - can he use the ol' msconfig command from Run to see what is starting up?

open up regedit and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Remove the key referencing mirc

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Is under HKLM also. Will remove for all users on machine not just the user logged in.
