will this ram work?

i have never bought a part for my computer before but i want to add another 256 stick to make 512.

i took my ram out and it sed this on the side...
256MB DDR, 266, CL 2.5

i dont know what the 266 means or the CL 2.5 and i'm aware two different sticks of ram need to match speed n stuff?

You need to by DDR266 (PC2100) RAM. You don't need to worry about the CL2.5 because the two sticks should match themselves together.

if this is rong could someone please look on any online store and find me some ram as i have said i have never bought this stuff before and not 100% sure what to purchase.. it would be a really big help
