Why Quake3 Freezes after 10 seconds of play ~

If anyone has any info, or suggestions please say.. thx guys.
 
what is your system config? did it use to freeze before you got XP? is your video board overclocked? what drivers are you using? and is your comp adequately cooled? and since i've asked so many questions why are we here?
