Why does XP want me to re-activate?

um that is not true, my friend tried that, it didn't even accept the key. He tried quite a few different keys..I might be wrong, but it would be odd.

hence why the XP keygen has 2 options, one for XP, one for corp

If you used a keygen for XP, no wonder why it didn't work...

Well, the ISO which was released a while ago, was the PRO ed. WITH some files changed, apparently from the Corp. one.
This was to avoid the registration, but it still "ask's you to register" when you first install, if you just ignore it, it will never prompt again and take your copy as registered.

Why do you make a question so f*cking big, he was just asking how to avoid it.

Just go to a crack page, search win xp, and "win xp no activation" or something like that will come up, download it, and vòila, you "registered" your copy (you can change the registry manually, but you can also get this string)

food for thought

LOL this thread sure got some attention yes the way to stop XP from always asking to reactivate is the famous wpa.dbl (fingerprint) just save it to a floppy as was stated that is as long as hardware remained the same.........

food for thought I did an experiment with XP pro ...... a buddy of mine has XP pro(french) and mine is (english) the funny thing was my key worked on both copies ......his key did not work on mine

um the keygen for XP works, I suggest you don't make assumptions about programs you clearly don't use. Many people have used the Keygen for XP sucessfully I myself have in testing. I have no need for the keygen since work pays for my copy of xp :)

There for Mister Zee, you clearly don't know anything about the keygen or how it works.

I'm not saying it didn't work, and that it was because it's a keygen.. But keygens are reknown for stoping from working after the manifacturer of the program changes his code. That's why I said that. I always try to find keygens for many apps, but for MS applications, a list of valid keys is better, since you sure that they work. That's what I meant. If the keygen was made using a specific build of XP, it will probably not work on all of them... See what I mean?

So for the big names, use serials, for the other stuff (sharewares etc..) use keygens if you can.. That's what I meant.

I'm not saying that on top of my head man, I have a few years of experience cracking or registering softwares using many resources... And that's the outcome of my experience. Keygens for big names might work for some time, but if they change their code, then you're screwed. Valid keys, unless they are disabled in the next builds (marked as copied serials), then they will always work.

I have a copy of XP Pro corporate, I got it from a friend who burned it from a corp. cd at his work. At the screen where it asks for the cd key, it specifically asks for your volume licence key and states that this should be available from your sys admin if you don't have it. I don't know if the cracked version does this. It stands to reason that there would be a few proper corp. version iso's kicking around the net, as any company that has paid for volume licensing will have corp. version cd's that people will have access to.

XP is the best Windows version so far IMHO, but I still wouldn't pay £250 for it.

Ah, I understand Mister Zee

But with the XP keygen it's not gonna be easy for MS to just "Change their code"

The XP keygen actually calculates the keys based on hardware ID and such...these aren't just keys that will let you login to windows the first time, these are keys that you can actually Activate using the MS internet activation...so they wouldn't even know if the key was real or gen'd since it is a completely valid key.

Lol! Sweet stuff Qumahlin =P That's one of the exeptions to thr rule I guess hehe

Im still a bit confused. I do have a legal copy of XP pro ( not corp ) and had to react, it a few times. Now if i get a Corp CD-Key would this infact solve the problem.

wpa.dbl

Just find the wpa.dbl and save it to a floppy as long as you dont change hardware that can be replaced after a reinstall and will reactivate your XP without having to do anything else ........;)

I change out alot of hardware either for upgrading or testing so coping that file dont sound like it will help me much

while we are on the subject of activation....i have a legit copy of winxp home. Since my first install, i have changed hard drives, replaced sound card and modem, added new NIC, and replaced cdrw. I reactivated after a clean install on my new hd and there was no problem. Soon i plan to get a new mobo, processor, ddr, and video card. After all is said and done, the only thing that will be left from my original install will be my dvd drive. This wont be a problem right?? The worst that can happen is that i will have to call microsoft, correct? I mean im not just building a new computer and wanting to have xp on both machines...ive been selling my old parts to a friend of mine.

you might have to call Microsoft and it will only take a few minutes

I must say I do like MS's phone support, I've only had to call them twice but both times they were courteous, fast, and friendly and I wasn't on hold for more then 30 seconds before the phone was answered :)

get the reg. file
Its stupid from MS to accept ONLY 2 activations. You have bought the CD (If applies) so, you have the right to use it as much as you want, as long its for you, not for a friends pc.

Thats why I do support this lil crack only if you bought the legit copy, that does not applies with me.

Activation

The XP activation will be requested if the hard drive has been formatted. Microsoft keeps a count how many times it's been used, after the 3rd time you have to call billy. If you install XP on a pre-existing O/S you will only have to activate it once as long as you don't reformat the drive. It's very stange one can install this on 5 different systems, the only way is if the hard drive has never been formatted. Also if you clone your hard drive and put it into another persons system (HD) in most cases you will be able to get away with this, but I've been told who works at bills place that they have a random search check on the over use of these store bought XP's that have been pirated. When you get on line and down load some of the updates there have been people who have got this notice to reactivate or make a call to billy. True Story
I had to install my store bought XP 3 times because the billy world was not excepting my activation and on the 3rd time I had to make that call and was given a code to allow it to activate once again, each time you have to do this if there becomes a problem! I live close to billies world here in WA. and know a lot of people who work there so I get a lot of inside info how some of these issues are handled. I think it's wrong for billie to sell XP and basically one never owns it. If you have 5 systems you should be able to install it on all your computers without issues period. People have already broken the code so this activation really doesn't work except in the begining. I'm not advocating pirating but I do think it's wrong to ask people to pay hard earned money for something that is needed for a lot of people in their homes etc.... and only ending up renting the software so to speak.
