which x64 Linux distro?

so i suppose the answer to my original post would be that there is no good x64 based operating system out there yet ?

I've been using 64-bit Gentoo since I bought my latest PC over a year ago without major issues. The only problems are proprietary stuff like flash and java. I am current using icedtea the open sourced java 7 with varying success and flash 9 via the plugin wrapper which is about 90% stable.

been doing a bit more reading on gentoo - would i be right in assuming that emerge app will norm build the app with default use flags, but you can use use flags to tweak the compile?

Also do you have any links for some up to date info on how to install mysql php and apahe on gentoo, i can get mysql and apache to work but it seems im missing something, although php info does come up :/ - have looked at a few wikis and forums but it seems the info is at least 18 monts old, and im guessing gentoo has changed a bit since then :p

BUMP

i need the server to be x64 (so that counts bsd out - unless someone knows the command line for burning cd/dvd isos - with verify check from command line), or i will have to log into xorg (no freebsd x64 driver for vid card - thank you nvidia) so will prob need to use k3b or more than likely imgburn under wine.

pc only has 3gbs of ram but am told that shouldnt be an issue

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
