Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz 800
or a
Pentium M 755 2.0GHz Dothan

anyone know the difference between these to proccesors?
going to be buying a new laptop and the Pentium M 755 2.0GHz Dothan
proccesor is a cheaper buy so dont know how good/bad it might be compared to the P4 3GHz. does anyone know how big of a diff there is..or any reviews?

Here are some benchmarks hope it helps out

I would go with the PM :)

link

it can be overclocked to 2.4 :)

The Dothan, undoubtedly.
Great performance, great battery life...you need to take both into account with a laptop.

with the TL laptop however there's less hd space slower ram and 128mb less on the vid card and there isn't no dvd rw....i will change the colours btw

Hmm...128MB less on the vid card might be a gamble, especially if you're going to use it for heavy gaming.
I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I'm not really a gamer, and I'd take the Dothan without thinking if I was choosing between those two.

either pentium M (centrino technology would be nice) or an athlon xp-m or an athlon64 based system if money is not an object :)

all 3 should run cool and quiet... have decent battery lives and also be powerful enough for most applications... AND usually all of them come with integrated G wireless units (from the off-the-shelf units I have seen)

both the systems you listed though are pretty damn good and either would be a worthy laptop unit :)

a little on the chunkeh/heavy side and probably low on the battery life but still a worthy full d'top replacement (if thats what you are seeking)

going for a d'top replacement yup
i wanted the PM with the 256mb vid card and the 2 hd's (for 120mb) and the 17" lcd display but they say they cant build the setup like that
so now not sure which one to go for..the Pentium M 755 is a good proc and i did want it but they cant provide :(
not sure which setup to go with now..its one or the other no mixing up of the 2 ... this sucks :(!

wanted the system to be like this

17in WSXGA+ 1680x1050 Perfect LCD (cant get it)
Pentium M 755 2.0GHz Dothan
1024MB Corsair 333MHz LL
Mobility Radeon 9700 Turbo 256MB DDR (cant get it)
Raid 0 - Striped - Max Performance (cant get it)
Hitachi Travelstar 60GB 7200RPM
Hitachi Travelstar 60GB 7200RPM (cant get it)
DVD-ROM/CD-RW Mobile Combo
MSI 802.11 bg mini-PCI Card (cant get it)
FragBook DR Extended Battery
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Fragbook AC Power adapter – Standard
Black Ops Briefcase
Included at No Extra Charge
3 Year w/Falcon Overnight Service

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
