A long time ago on this board some said something like "People who don't by widescreen LCD's make Baby Jebus cry". Well I don't want to do that but I'm really struggling to find a 19" widescreen.

Pricewatch lists only 2.

I hear good things about the Dell Ultrasharp's but my latest Dell catalog shows them at like $400 if you buy a PC and $600 if you don't. Since I have no intention of EVER buying a desktop from a manufacturer ever again this seems out of the question. So anways ... what should I get? What's a good price, good maker. All that good stuff.

Thanks

The HP isn't widescreen, just 5:4. Widescreen isn't that common under 20".

Dell 2005FPW and Dell 2405FPW are pretty much the only recommendation I can give in the way of monitors at the moment.

Guess that would explain why I can't find any 19" wides. I'll keep that in mind when I look, Thanks

That acer is not too bad.

The dell 2005 fpw would be my suggestion. Very good display and I think everyone on these boards who has one loves theirs.

Just a thought, the 2005FPW is about $460 USD at the moment, with some of the ridiculous coupon codes that appear now and then it can be had closer (or even just under) the $300 USD mark, sometimes... might be worth waiting for some codes to surface?

Philips but it's $620

Note the viewsonics is last generation. Weak viewing angle and contrast.

Googling is a lost art...

Actually some of those were just announced so won't be in pricexxxx yet.

And I forgot old faithfull. have 19" viewsonic also @ $309.

I've seen some of those around this site. If anyone finds more, let me know.

Thanks.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
