Hi Every one!!!

I'm just woundering where is scandisk in windows Xp Pro..
Well Sometimes my notebook hangs up..
So I've to restart.. But I never seen on nettime boot up..
Windows run Scandisk.. like as it do in Win 98 and other Win O.S

Thanks

Open Help and Support and type in "Chkdsk." This will give you a run down for using XP's drive error checking utility. Scandisk is not used on NT based systems. Read the Help and Support Documents and it will tell you how to thoroughly check your disks for errors using Chkdsk.

Re

Hey Lonman,

Is there any other disk util.. to check your drive for error..?
Is thet right chkdsk command with the parameters only available when you are using the Recovery Console.

Recovery Console??

Well My harddisk has NTFS file system..
Can you plz tell me all the steps..

Thanks In adv..

You can open Windows Explorer, right click on the drive you want to check for errors and select "properties." In that window select Tools> Error Checking. You can run Chkdsk with different options there. It won't be able to perform a complete analysis of the drive you are operating on until it reboots. However, it can perform full analyses on all unmounted partitions. Hope that helps.

Hey Lonman Thanks..

I didn't know that..
Well that's easy?

Thanks...
