i am getting a new video card.

so far i have these choises because of the lack of funds

albaton gforce 4 ti 4200 128 DDRturbo and pv

msi gforce 4 ti 4200 128 DDR

asus gforce 4 ti 4200 128DDR

aopen

abit

i was looking at the ati ones but for the price of these with the performance for price i can find one that works, is anyone sees something that can be ordered in canadian dollars that would be even better if it is a better performance but other than that what do people think of thses cards, what one is better

Nvidia Ti 4800 ( 4600 with AGP 8X ) is what u want ..
From those yu've listed I would choose Abit :

1. ABit
2. MSI
3. Albatron
4. Aopen

I know that ASUS make quality cards, as well as MSI, not sure about the rest. It's really just a matter of preference.

You must consider that performance differs from brand to brand .. Instead of you I would choose Leadtek

Asus may be expensive, but they have some top notch graphics cards...that's what I'd go with. Not a big fan of aopen or albatron. MSI and Abit are good though.

i'd say stay away from th aopen. i bought the agp4x version with VIVO and the standard memory (4ns) won't even go up to it's rated 500mhz. doesn't overclock well at all. but it was cheap.

aim for one of the agp8x versions as the memory is 500mhz by default. i have the asus one (yes, 2 gf4 ti's) and it goes up to about 580mhz.

the albatron p-turbo is sweet too, though. 3.3ns memory is good for at least 600mhz.

get a Gainward video card there geofrce line tends to be a tad over spec and generally cost a lil bit less then those other companys.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
