I've done a search on the boards several times, and I have not come across anything. Where in the registry do you change the (two I believe) lines so that Outlook Express won't load MSN?

you can do it inside oe by going to tools options and general then uncheck automatically log on to msn messenger or ive got the wrong end of the question?

Hmmm OE is integrated with MSN Messenger the regedit i use was this

Registry Settings
System Key:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express]

Value Name: Hide Messenger

Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)

Value Data: (2 = remove messenger)

Rename this folder C:\Program Files\Messenger to MessengerOff. Does it for me. You won't be using it though. :( 0r :)

After more than five hours I beat ya by seconds. :D

You might have other problem when deleting messenger . .
It will takes ages to load OE . .
Suggest you download X-teq System X-setup to avoid this.

Yes, thats the part I am wanting to know:

When you rename the folder to "MessengerOFF", it does happen to have an extremely long opening time for Outlook Express. Where in the registry do you change that? And what are those tools you are talking about, where do you get them?

Doesn't affect my OE at all. That's why I suggest doing that. Ah well trial & error...............

Another quick fix is to disable Contacts in the OE View then Layout options.
