What do you do in IIS if you get an error when trying to start your default web site and it says that it cannot be started because another web site may be using the same port?

For some reason I have IIS 6 and IIS 7 on the same machine. I seem to be unable to start IIS 7 but it seems I can in IIS 6. Yet, I am able to see c:\inetpub\wwwroot\iisstart.htm but I am not able to see a viable http://localhost

You can't use both IIS versions on the same machine, only one service can listen on a port. If you stop IIS6 can you start IIS7?

Please tell me how. How do I stop IIS 6? I have no idea why there are two IIS's.

There doesn't seem to be any way to uninstall IIS. I looked at the list of programs and there is no IIS listed there. Also, I could not find a service to stop in the list of services.

It would be under Add/Remove Windows Components. I know under Windows Server it's listed as "Application Server"

What OS are you running?

I am also running Windows Server (sp 2).

Is "Add/Remove Windows Components" something listed in the Control Panel? If so, I cannot see it. Is it in Classic View or the other one?

Here are my views of my Control Panel. Where is "Add/Remove Windows Components"?

Maybe since it is a virtual machine, things are different.

Sorry, click programs and features then on the left of that window click Add/Remove Windows Components.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
