Western Digital SUCKS

See the Fact People .... you had some commercial tests to show me... and I had some non-profit tests to show you... comes out with two completely different result... so... if it's not a money problem... you tell me what's wrong... well... CNET's tests are probably more professional then most of the other commercial tests because they don't just run a few bench mark program... and they really do look at things inside out... and you can find how they test things in CNET.com ....

tomshardware is not commercial, you are being paranoid. wd does a good overall job with the increased 8mb buffer. i was not asking for a market analysis, i could have figured that one out.

seek times..., but in all around performance, the WD is king, that is why every magazine and hardware place uses them in their computers and promots them. same with the now ATi 9700 Pro

get real... ram cannot affect drive speed as such... only not enough ram will... more then enough will not improve performance... can you tell me why IBM and other harddisk company they don't put more ram in their drive?? do you think they can't??

yes, do you know how the design the chips? can you tell me exactly what is where? No. IBMs Seek Times are good, that is why it can compete. As for the extra "ram" it does help. it can keep sigs of certian programs to find them later, faster. And when you get that large is size (120GB) 7,200 RPM - 5,400 RPM does not matter all THAT much because of the way the data is compressed. why can't you admit that the drive gives you better all around performance? You saw the facts but you thought that they were a commercial, the drive is good, why not sing its praises? You are so mis-informed about this it is amazing! why can't you just see? you got one bad drive, sorry that happens some times. that is nothing to base the performance of the product on.

Sorry, had to say that

Well sure it would.. but... why not increase RAM on the machine? you can buy 128mb for a cheap price... and 6mb on the drive for a relatively much higher price.. RAM on the machine will keep data in it for later use... that's what it is... and much after access... and I don't know how they design the chip... but you still haven't answer a question... Why IBM they don't put 8mb or even more buffer in a drive?? or they don't have the power to do that??

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
