hey,
Using xp pro, the welcome screen has it benefits and drawbacks. My friend's box in the dorm room has xp and set me up an account, which is helpful when i need to do a background type task and have him switch over to his account to do what he needs to do.
The problem is after a while of being idle (about when the screen saver would kick in) the welcome screen gets back in and he doesn't like that too much, which led him to getting rid of the welcome screen as a whole, and to the classical win2k screen, but this gets rid of being able to run something and then switching accounts to do other tasks.
Is there a way to get rid of having the welcome screen from popping in? i haven't tried again since this semester started, but i think we played around with turning off screen savers, changing power settings, etc, but didn't seem to work.
any help is appreciated.
