When I go to the Control Panel and try to click the "checkbox" to place the volume icon in the taskbar, it NOW says
"Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the volume control program has not been installed. To install it, use Add/Remove programs!

....Okay when I go there there is nothing about that!

Somebody HAS to know whats going on!!

Also, maybe a silly question, BUT what program are people using when they take snapshots of their screens?

to take screeny press F11.... then paste into favourite image editor.... 😉

Thanx man!

Now just waiting for somebody to HELP me with the volume prob! 😉

The install/uninstall option of the volume control is hidden under Multimedia.
Maybe this (Dutch)screendump will help.

Did you klick on the "Add/remove Windows applications" button?(the one on the left site at the bottom)
It should be there somewhere under, eh well on my pc it's called Bureau-accessoires en Hulpprogramma's --> Multimedia --> volumecontrol.
Just double click on an item and you'll get more options(items).

try a search for mixer.exe if u installed 3rd party drivers for your soundcard it may have removed the vol control ur looking for and replaced with the mixer.exe to allow 4 channel sound.

I did find mixer.exe for my Creative 5.1 card.

The weird thing about it is that I DID find the "sndvol32" file on BOTH my HD and the XP CD, BUT it's in ".CH_" , ".EX_" , and ".HL_" format. Is there any way I can install from there.

I even tried installing the Volume Control off the XP CD, BUT it doesn't even show up!
