weird monitor probs

came home today wife says she shut down the pc cause of a "funny smell". i reboot and notice that images in the center of the screen appear fuzzy(words ,pictures, mouse pointer,etc.)
everything to the right and left look normal. the monitor is a
KDS 17" x-treme flat set at 1024x768 w/refresh at 75 mz.
anybody got a idea !😕

ooo, the monitor could be getting ready to pack it in on you. double check to make sure you are not above the specified refresh rate the monitor can handle.

Call KDS

KDS is having S-E-R-I-O-U-S monitor quality problems...the monitor is not fixable, they will replace the monitor, and if you bitch they will replace it with a bigger one, They even recently failed a quality test at QVC due to the complaints.

The monitors release a chemical smell of chlorine/burning plastic, the image will continue to blur and fade till it completely dies

KDS is replacing them for customers left and right...and I hate to say it by I already know of 2 replacements that have also failed. If possible get them to agree to a refund and get your money back and get another brand until KDS finds out what part is failing. if you need any more info about it contact me.

Qumahlin, contacted KDS and after some convincing on my part,
they agreed to send mre 2 new monitors. i'd feel pretty good about it except the question remains,what if these 2 go south?
i guess i'll just have to wait and see!anyway,thanks a ton for the
quick post and info you gave! thanks also to the rest who replied.
maybe i can be of some help to you all in the future!😀
