greetings.. .

I setup a lan with 2 computers both running Windows XP pro with SP1 anyway ... it was working perfectly until I tried to move something so I had to disconnect the client computer's Lan cable. When I connect the cable back .. the LAN connection doesn't work anymore .. I even ran the wizards again still no luck. Anyone encounter this weird problem b4 ?? any help will be great.

thanks

Chris

Check your cables. You could have inadvertantly hosed one up. Try using a line tester on it.

I checked the cable nothing is wrong. . I even try using another one .... still on luck ..
thx for the reply tho

Chris,

yes.. everything is plugged in .. no conflicts no nothing .. this is very weird .. I can't even see the client's computer on the network even though we are in teh same workgroup.. HMMM

is the XP firewall turned on? It'll screw you every time.

tried plugging cable in and rebooting? ;)

rebooting solves 90% of probs...

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
