Weird game - can you work it out?

Could not quite work this game out - can anyone else? 😕

Got through a couple of levels I guess - to the one with the gear cog... But wtf going on really not sure....

I'm level something like 12 or 13 with the dropping do-nut rings, I'm lost now!

Are now, I've just finished, it says DEFEATED ? Did I win or what!
