Webcam as surveillance camera

I've got a usb webcam and would like to use it as a surveillance camera.Most of the software available on the net are the 'save to hard disk type'.I'd like to use mine as a streaming video rather than keeping it in the hard disk.Any suggestions anyone ?

http://dorgem.sf.net/ - it offers a 'live' cam image, then you can use a java applet (or plain old image/page refresh) to update the image every few seconds.

If you live in the UK and you're using it to gain images of people that are causing criminal damage, it is illegal and you cannot use it to convict someone/ people of a crime. Also neighbours may not be too happy nor people that don't know they're being filmed also, be warned.
