Hey everyone,

A few days ago we just got a cable modem. Right now I have the modem hooked up to my router, then the router to my computer, and the router to my guardian's computer. She is going to be receiving a new GOOD computer within a week, so I want to be able to setup some file sharing between our computers. I don't want her to have access to everything, just almost like a "network" drive hosted off my computer would be nice, and whatever I put in that will be shared between us, as she can add to that too.

I tried messing around with settings, no luck. Looked at the help in the faq, no luck. I think my best choice for help would be coming from another user who has had the same experiences as which I have had before. Usually I'm a fast learner, but for some reason this networking stuff {Even my Cisco education isn't helping} is coming a bit slow to me. *sighs* I wish I could explain it in a more clear manner, but I can't. Just want to be able to set something up between the two computers.

Just decide a folder you want to share (C:\Shared?). Make sure Simple File Sharing is on and then share it. Make sure to check the box about allowing users to change files on the share. Then just connect to it on the other computer. If you're lucky it works straight off. If not, post again with the error. :)

Good luck!

also make sure the folder you areharing is not set to be a "Private" folder or you will have to setup permissions to it for sharing

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
