yah check this out, norton is pestering me with a stupid warning screen about this bastard yet when i try to clean it off or get more info all I get is this.

try this online scanner,not very practical to use but I do trust Kaspersky for a few years now, never failed on me, here it is:

so glad I bought norton so I could use a free online scanner haha

No offence meant, but I quit using Norton when I discovered that Norton didn't see viruses that Kaspersky could see and eradicate...

Yeah I wouldn't use ANY online scanner as my sole AV protection. But it's good when you've found something to have another AV go thru and make sure it's all good.

it was that new worm thats been floating around but NAV was saying it was somthing else, anywho i applyed the patch and deleted the infected files and the laptop is all good again. thanks for your help.

Good old Sasser eh? I like how the numbers went from a few hundred, and industry not so worried, till today (monday) and it exploded into hundreds of thousands and was on the news as a *new* virus that you can now get a patch for.

-edit- Why not stress on the news about the patch/2wk old security update on Saturday when they 1st knew about the worm and knew it was gonna get big?

Yeah true .. ppl don't care till its there system not booting or is totally borked. Never mind that there computer could disrupt ppl that did patch. :/
