when i use my dvd player i get really low sound... from all of the software i use too.. (real player, wmp9, jet audio, kazaa player)

but for games and music, its normal...

ONLY when i use the dvd rom drive.. but there are no drivers for it..

what should i do??

right click the drive from my comp, go to properties and make sure the box is ticked for digital audio. hope it helps 🙂

also the codec that come with power dvd or win dvd may help out the volume level. check in sound properties as well, just incase any sliders are set too low.

Using most DVD software such as Power DVD , Win DVD etc , the through sound output seems to be quite low in most DVDs.
You end up setting 80% or so in software and also increasing speaker volume.
Had that problem for years.
Then when back to normal non DVD use it has to be shunted down again.

its kinda weird, at first i thought it was my speakers, and i was going to invest like $150 into them... then i decided to listen to some MP3s i ripped.. and they sounded fine...

i just did a FIRMWARE update for my Lite-On Combo drive.. hoping it helps some..

:crossing fingers:

Have you connected the audio cable into your DVD drive to the sound card? 😛
