Visiontek Xtasy CD-RW 48x12x48

Hey i just bought the 48x12x48 and i read up that there is firmware to burn CD's faster with this CDRW. Has anyone seen or downloaded this file? Because it seems like a great download to get. Thanks a lot guys.

Should have did some research craig. Ever heard of Lite-On CD-RW 48x12x48? They make the drives you just bought.(Visiontek purchases the drives from them) Sell them for $99 and with the latest Nero burning software can burn 650megs in about 2minutes.

Yeah, i did my research, and thats why i bought the Visiontek for 75 dollars. It was on sale, and lite-ons r about as hard to find on the shelves as a new Voodoo 4.

I believe the firmware was to go from 40X to 48X, check www.cdfreaks.com or www.cdrinfo.com for some good info on that drive.

That is right

Goro4u is correct the firmware patches the 40x visiontek/lite-on to 48, but i to all you people tha have the 40x one read the forums over at cd freaks some people had some problems! As for you craigmack you have nothing to patch!
