Who made it?

I had a 56K HSP modem made by PCTEL (www.pctel.com)
it does NOT work on XP (its the only piece of hardware which didnt work) i bought a new modem (make sure its definatley compatible with xp when u buy)

Hi re request for Windows 2000 driver. Have you tried downloading from http://www.driverguide.com they have loads of stuff their for free. You have to register but thats no problem.

Modem Bad!

Hey, I work for a local ISP ( http://www.tznet.com ) and we have MANY problems (as well as our competitors) with those modems. This may only be in remote (non-metropolitan) areas, I'm not sure but, anything PcTel or HSP or HCF may have connection issues! This is where you can find init strings for just about any modem as well as links to their vendors and/or if they are actually made by someone else. Great info for any modem user! http://www.modemhelp.net Be warned, although if you live in a big city and it works, thats.......... ok. (Thank you Stuart Smalley for that last line)
