Does anyone have or know where to get the uxtheme.dll for XP sp1 1097??

Here you go. I use the Recovery Console to apply my file patches.

Here's how to do it: (unrar and place file in system32 folder)

1) Install Recovery Console. Put XP CD into Cd Drive. Goto Start - Run type X:\I386\winnt32 /cmdcons (X being the letter of your cd drive that the XP CD is in)

2) After installing Recovery Console, reboot and select Recovery Console

3) Once at prompt type copy c:\windows\system32\uxtheme1.dll c:\windows\system32\dllcache\uxtheme.dll

4)Hit enter and then yes

5) Type copy c:\windows\system32\uxtheme1.dll c:\windows\system32\uxtheme.dll

6) Hit enter and then yes

7) Type exit


Now you can change your themes. (I use this method, because the safe mode method does not work for me)
