I just installed WinXP Pro on my little sister’s computer. Because we have problems with her installing things like viruses and just stupid programs that are not needed. I have made her a limited user. When I installed The Sims and Winamp I got problems.

Winamp gave me a run error saying it couldn’t access some file and I fixed that by making her a "power" user. The Sims how ever will not run. It says that she needs to be logged in as an admin to run it. I went into regedit and gave the group user full privileges on the Maxis (Sims) file and it still won’t work.

Does anyone know a fix for this?

PS: I think The Sims is a horrible game so no Sims cracks it’s for my sister. I guess when they get to be teens they need things like that because they are too old for Barbies and playing house.

Never mind...

If it autoruns from the cd it will play, but when trying to use a link to play it it doesn't. I think it just will not let her give the game commands like open, but will let the system.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
