I have a 100GB hard drive and partitioned it into about 5 drives. I have one drive that is 5GB for cache and XP stuff for like file paging, I was just trying some stuff out. I just formated the rest of my drives and found out that some space is missing. I have a 20GB partition that has about 700 MB used up for some reason, maybe its for that paging but I dont know how to move it over to my 5GB of emptiness . . .

But what could be taking up 700 MB of space when I just formatted it?

nope no file, it was freshly formatted 20.0 GB exact and about 700 is used up.

i dont think it could be a virus, it was a fresh 100GB hard drive, just started to use it installed XP off a bought OEM cd that's a real Microsoft dealy

What OS do you have on the computer. it would be other windows putting paging file on it.

Or it would be a FAT table or something that store information about your drive. MAYBE!!! I did not say it IS, I said maybe it would be!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
